All of our current Joint Venture Plants are specified to run on Low Grade Wood Waste.
According to our research there are somewhere between 4 and 7 million tonnes of low grade wood waste being produced annually in the UK. The majority of this potential fuel ends up in (or on) landfill sites.
Each of our plants will account for approximately 28,000 tonnes per annum. The current legislative climate makes wood waste the most attractive and appropriate waste to turn into electricity in the UK however, there are many other potential fuels subject to territory and availability. The following list is not exhaustive, but some examples of appropriate wastes are :
Agricultural and Organic Wastes
- Wood & wood waste
- Wood by-product waste (MDF dust etc)
- Energy crop biomass
- Animal litter
- Coffee husk and pulp
- Rice husk
- Coconut and other nut waste
