A joint venture between Nottinghamshire Recycling Ltd and Bioflame was yesterday granted full planning permission by Notts CC to build a 20,000MW per year renewable energy power station.

A joint venture between Nottinghamshire Recycling Ltd at Shire Oaks Road, Worksop and Bioflame was yesterday granted full planning permission by a unanimous vote of Nottinghamshire County Council to build a 20,000MW per year renewable energy power station at that site. After a few weeks of final contract negotiation, orders will be placed to get the contract rolling.  The plant is expected to ready to generate with 14 months of that event and will produce enough electricity to supply at least 4500 homes.  Kevin Burgess, owner of the site and Director of the new joint venture, which will be known as Nottinghamshire Recyling Heat & Power Ltd said 'We already treat wood waste on our site but now we will have a much more sustainable way of getting rid of it than sending it to landfill.  After a thorough search, the Bioflame package proved to us to be head and shoulders above any other current technology offered in the UK market place.  The Bioflame boys never leave the ball in their court for more than a few hours - we are looking forward to the project being delivered at the same pace and accuracy"   Alex Thornton, Bioflame's New Business Development Officer thanked the team at Notts County Council for a thoroughly professional job, namely Lester Hannington and Michael Hankin and particularly Jerry Smith who presented an excellent case to the Chamber.

The project will create at least five local jobs and help to sustain several others.  In time it is hoped that waste heat from the plant might be piped into a district heating scheme to supply the proposed development on the old 69 acre factory site next door which is hoped to be in front of the planners in the near future.  The joint venture readily agreed to set-up a liason committee with local residents in order to make sure that there was a flow of information about the plant between them.  Concerns of dust and noise were quoshed by MD of Bioflame Victor Buchanan who said " we are absolutely confident that the Environment Agency will have no problems to deal with as a result of the plant and are happy to reassure local residents by means of the liason committee"  Applications to join the committee should be addressed to
