Bioflame is an environmental engineering company whose 'green credentials' are our major asset. We will not knowingly undertake any commission where any environmental malpractice is suspected. It is our stated aim to make the general environment a better place by reducing the reliance on fossil fuel for energy, reducing transport movements and eliminating landfill.
We operate an open-book policy and will seek to involve any stakeholders, including local residents in our plans at the earliest opportunity. It is human nature to worry that a new installation in your area may have an affect on your life. We aim to be able to allay any fear that people may have concerning the perceived effects of living near to one of our units. It may be a comfort to know that the Bioflame system emits less pollution than a solid fuel barbeque, is 4000 times cleaner than a waste fired cement kiln and that the Managing Director of the company lives with his wife and family within 1000 meters of our plant in Pickering. We can prove that our system is benign to the immediate environment and hugely positive for the environment as a whole.
Bioflame Ltd. has considered the impact on the environment of its services and activities and undertakes to assist clients to comply with ever-increasing environmental demands and to minimise the environmental impact of its services, operations and products.
Our principle environmental commitments are:
• Through the nature of our work, to undertake research, design, development and build of low emissions facilities that will meet appropriate national, international and client requirements
• To comply with all environmental legislation, codes of practice, regulatory controls and client or insurance requirements
• To minimise avoidable pollution or nuisance that may be caused by our activities
• To use energy and natural resources efficiently and to reduce consumption where possible
• To minimise the generation of waste and to dispose of unavoidable waste in a responsible manner
• To consider the environmental implications of changes to products, processes, materials and facilities when business decisions are made
• To continually improve our environmental performance through the setting and review of realistic and achievable objectives
• To provide appropriate resources for the implementation of this policy
• To work with relevant stakeholders to implement this policy
• To encourage subcontractors and vendors to adopt, follow and improve their environmental policies and performance
This policy is implemented through our environmental management systems; changes to this policy shall be driven by audit results, changing circumstances and the commitment to continual improvement. Staff awareness of this policy is ensured by providing appropriate training and communications.
